Jessica opened up about how she has changed during the last 10 years since she made her debut in 2007.

In celebration of her 10th year anniversary as a singer, Jessica has announced plans for the release of a new album and taken part in a special pictorial with 1st Look magazine.

The pictorials beautifully capture the romantic scenery of Paris and the maturity of Jessica. During the shoot, Jessica’s 10 years of experience in the industry shined through as she posed professionally for the camera in autumn clothes.

Jessica also shared her thoughts on her last 10 years of working relentlessly. She said, “I feel a difference between myself in my 20s and myself now. At one point, I started to think that focusing on what makes you yourself is the most beautiful thing to do.”

She went on to say, “Now, instead of being influenced by my surroundings and by what others think, I spend more energy on doing what I want and on believing in myself.” She added, “I realized that being myself is what’s most comfortable and what I like best.”

Meanwhile, Jessica’s new album is scheduled for release in August.

Jessica relayed her innermost thoughts about her time with Girls’ Generation and also about her sister, f(x)’s Krystal, for a recent interview with fashion magazine Marie Claire Taiwan.

In the interview, she said, “I was quite scared in 2014 when I left Girls’ Generation, but I feel like I’m in a new world.” She clarified, “After leaving Girls’ Generation, I have a lot more freedom to direct things. I’m almost 30. I want to live for my dream, not for someone else. If I were still a member of Girls’ Generation, I wouldn’t have experienced these things.”

She also spoke about her sister Krystal and what she means to her. She said, “My sister and I have no secrets. She’s my family, and my best friend and colleague. I don’t have anyone else in the industry that I trust, depend on, and talk to without barriers. However, I’m so lucky that my sister is here with me, is working hard, and experiences things with me.” She added that she would like to go on a trip where she could take care of her sister, but they’re very busy with their own work.

Jessica is turning 28 years old this year. She said, “I think I’ve grown a lot this year through my work as a designer, a singer, an actress, and a musician. Of course, I wasted some time as well, but each year, I think I become wiser.”
